I expect the unexpected and connect the unconnected.

Welcome. I’m Christina. I’m a northern California-born freelance writer, essayist and journalist whose life chapters have included photography, cooking, design and time spent as a singer in Europe and Japan.

I used to be ashamed of my disparate life experiences (as if they collectively detracted from some one thing I was supposed to be). Now I

  1. no longer give a shit

  2. draw inspiration from them

I am a Rubik’s cube of languages, music, food, wine, travel, pottery, jewelry-making and photos. I’ve recently embraced a word that repelled me at first because it sounded like math. A polymath // is a person of wide ranging knowledge or learning. I find refuge in periodically putting myself into a hypnotic state of stillness. By doing something with my hands I go into a kind of self-induced creative coma. Rhythmical, monotonous, wordless. In that wordless place I find my writing. I draw my connections.

I think connected is the one thing I am supposed to be. I would like to be a connector. I would like to be a connection when I write. The place where truth and happiness intersect. I am grateful to connect with you here.
